Vintage battery operated Mountain Special 3671 toy train, toots and smokes [used to]. The conductor is leaning out from the operating compartment with a whimsical smile.

Produced by Trade Mark Modern Toys of Japan. This came from a private collection and was really a fun toy. Sadly, it no longer operates and the battery compartment latch is missing. The toy tinkerer could likely dismantle and make it work.

Otherwise it is a nice piece for toy collector or even train collector – it still looks great sitting on a shelf.
