Vintage picnic basket to take along whether you are re-enacting a medieval hunting feast, an eloquent Victorian outing or dining al fresco with friends with an family.

Circa 1960s and in excellent shape! The woven oak slats are nicely aged and may have at one time had a protective coating applied for preservation. The handles are bent oak and attached by a brass pin. The lid is solid ply and colored to match the basket; it is attached with brass hinges with nice patina.

This basket does have some signs of aging with discoloration on some of the weave. It is in very good condition for its age.

This vintage piece of leisure history is a picnic basket for two. Think back to leisure times and romantic outings to the park, beach or river side. Sitting under the sprawling oak tree or in among the swinging willows. Picnicking!

Great for the shepherd, explorer, hunter or fairgoer. Imagine carrying this to the park for an evening under the stars listening to a summer concert.
